Bitter Gourd Soup 苦瓜汤

Bitter Gourd Soup
  • 250g pork ribs
  • 500 grams bitter gourd 
  • 2.5 litres water
  • 5 red dates
  • 1 tbsp wolfberries soaked in water , drained
  • salt to taste


  1. Blanch pork ribs in boiling water for a few minutes pour away wash
  2. Cut the bitter gourd in half use a spoon to scoop out the seeds and white part inside Cut into strips. soak in salt water (1 litre water + 1 tsp salt)
  3. In a large soup pot, add 2.5 litres water, blanched pork ribs,  red dates and bitter gourd. When the water boiling, simmer for about 30 minutes. covered for 30 mins
  4. Add wolfberries boil for 10mins Season with salt.
